The Durham County Rugby Football Union have made some alterations to the Competition Rules of the County Cups, Trophy and Shield. You are recommended to check these rules and be sure you have them clearly in your mind, because we are fast approaching the season of The Cups being played.

Bouncer
At the recent dinner held for the visitors from Natal, two people invited were unable to attend at the last moment, meaning two spare seats at the end of a long table. During the meal two young men in their teens entered the Dining Room, decided they would join in and sat down. Initially this was not a problem until they started to act foolishly this brought them to the notice of one David Thompson, County Treasurer and stalwart of Gateshead RFC. Who promptly threw them out, not physically you understand, but with some malice. "Biffa" Thompson may not have scared the two youths, but he put the fear of God into me.
