Appointments for
September 2010 - Appointments
The start of another season is upon us. Many Referees have
already been participating in pre-season friendlies, so
hopefully the league season which begins on the very 1st
Saturday of the season will not be a total shock to players
or referees
There are no new laws for the coming season but an insistence
that the current laws particularly relating to the put in
at the scrummage, offside at rucks, mauls, tackle area and
at kicks are upheld more stringently
There were over 70 referees and advisors at the Federation meeting in July to hear the message and some 43 at Durham's additional training meeting on the 27th August. When you consider the number of apologies also received due to refs getting in a late summer holiday that is a tremendous committment from the official in Durham
Good luck to referees, players and clubs for the coming
season. Please don't loose site of the fact that even though
the result is important, rugby is played for enjoyment and
pleasure.
